BIO

A blues musician at her core, Natalia's natural storytelling ability and powerhouse vocals will take you on a journey. An award winning songwriter, her single “Before” won the New England Songwriters Competition and received honorable mention in SongDoor’s International Competition. The release of her EP, "Beyond the Broken Pieces", followed shortly after, offering an intimate peak into love, heartbreak, and the journey to self discovery.

A top 50 finalist on American Idol’s 20th season, Natalia has performed alongside national acts like fellow idol winners David Cook and Crystal Bowersox, Grammy nominee Allen Stone, Blues Legend Joe Louis Walker, and the boss himself Bruce Springsteen

With a sound reminiscent of Amy Winehouse or Janis Joplin, and commanding lyrics such as those of Alanis Morissette, Natalia comes alive on stage and is a must-see!

Feeling nostalgic today… A year ago I was performing at the Orpheum Theater for my first round of Hollywood week. What a wild ride this past year as been. 13 year old me in the clip above singing on her bedroom floor would never believe the life that 26 year old me has experienced. Picture this: it’s 2008, I’m 12 and fan girl-ing over some guy named David on tv. I brag to my friends that I know him and show them his ‘number’ in my pink chocolate phone (it was 1-800-DAV-COOK…). I cry happy tears when he wins and download his entire album on my iPod nano. Fast forward 13 years, he mentors me on that same show. Fast forward again to this week. I’ll have the incredible opportunity of joining him on stage, on my birthday no less! Life is a very very funny thing.. thank you a million times over @davidcookofficial, see you soon! So here you all are, waiting for my American Idol news… Immediately after genre round, we were given partners and a short list of songs. I was paired with a sweet southern 16 year old from Louisiana, @brycemcglothinmusic. He reminded me so much of myself 10 years ago and though I knew the next few hours would be insane, I felt lucky to experience it with him. We chose Lean On Me by Bill Withers as it just felt right considering our situation, HA! Despite us delivering an incredible performance (in my opinion 😉), both of our idol journeys ended. As a blues musician, I’m often faced with the challenge of choosing between singing showy runs and big notes or taking it down to a place where the lyrics, melody, and feeling of a song are appreciated. I choose the second, and respected the original as it was; simple and beautiful. My goal throughout this experience was to stay true to who I was, and I accomplished that. Sometimes it feels like a blur, but then I remember where this all started; from 100,000 to 50 remaining contestants! If this opportunity presents itself in the future, I will 100% go on this wild ride again. But for now, I’m looking forward to a summer full of music and I’m SO thankful for everything I’ve learned and the outpouring of new support from this little island we call home.

So you caught a few glimpses of me last night, and you’re wondering what happened next… ✨I MADE IT THROUGH GENRE ROUND!✨ *My chosen genre was rock. It was difficult to choose, but so glad I went with it because @davidcookofficial was a phenomenal mentor! I remember watching him on idol as a kid and just feeling inspired that someone like me, who loves classic rock, can still be so successful in this industry. *I sang Hand In My Pocket by @alanis Morissette. You’ll see a little clip here! Fun fact: the shows pianist was her musical director. What an opportunity to be able to sing a song of hers for him! *I was the only female rocker to surpass this round (which is unbelievable based on the insane talent of the others). This was a tough round, but definitely one of my favorites! Duets here I comeeee! 🤩

Once a week for the past 19 years my family and I would curl up on the couch for our favorite show, American Idol… but season 20 will feel a little bit different for us.
